ONE Gas’ mission to deliver natural gas for a better tomorrow goes beyond providing reliable energy to heat your home and cook your meals – it also includes creating bright futures for its communities.

One of the many examples of this is the recent $100,000 grant from the ONE Gas Foundation for the construction of a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) lab at Emerson Elementary in Tulsa.

This lab will offer students a hands-on learning environment where they can explore STEAM concepts through project-based learning and applied technology in a state-of-the-art space designed for collaboration.

STEAM is the evolution of STEM education – the addition of arts helps create a more well-rounded curriculum and is more inclusive of a broader range of interests. It is designed to prepare students to solve real-world problems while improving their college and career readiness. This directly aligns with ONE Gas’ philanthropic strategy, which emphasizes education – specifically with STEAM and leadership development initiatives.

Investing in these programs helps equip students with the skills they need to succeed in an evolving and fast-paced environment as they become the leaders of tomorrow.

Looking for a way to get involved? Community members can help Emerson Elementary fund an endowment that will sustain the lab for years to come. To make a donation, email Anhna Vuong, president and CEO of the Tulsa Foundation for Schools, at vuongan@tulsaschools.org.
